Re: Making friends
Yeah, Mum's had many check-ups and appointments with different specialists and they all say the same thing, and it's evident by the special photographs of her eyes, so that's whats accepted.
Australia has horrible public transport unless you live in the city, or go to school. I wouldn't be able to study or work without my car.

Re: Making friends
Macular Degeneration? Hmm They want to take a shot of my macular for some reason. This eye problem have is genetic. We can't trace at all. The only way is blood tests and all my living family members are clear. I have about 5 family members that passed before i was diagnosed!

Re: Making friends
@Glen - I am very sorry to hear about your situation, our government really does suck and lets way too many people down.
@Christy - It can be very hard making friends at your age if you do not attend university or like going to pubs, especially when you have an anxiety disorder.
I am not exactly sure what to suggest, you have tried all of the obvious options like social sites, perhaps you should try making at least one friend by walking u and chatting to someone non-threatening, then once you form a friendship, get introduced to some of his/her friends. Another method is if you have any brothers or sisters, get them to introduce you to some people. You really are in a sticky situation, you just need to be creative and find something that you are comfortable with

Re: Making friends
Have you tried calling up a hooker? They're always great companions in my times of need...
