    Lithium

    I was recently diagnosed with bipolar type two and my psychiatrist wants me to go on Lithium for a month and see if that improves my moods. I was just wondering if anyone here has used or trialled Lithium and how they found it in terms of stabilising their moods. He informed me of the side effects i.e.slowing down of thyroid and kidney damage so I’m a bit anxious to take it....

    I was and still am on Lithium for awhile now and yes those things can happen. The most problem that I have is because it's salt based you constantly feel dehydrated so your drinking and peeing water all day. I'm on 1200mg/day which is a lot but it takes this amount for me to feel slightly better.
