dealing with people( coping with stigma)
for years i told myself i can handle my depression , things got worse and anxiety arrived paranoia arrived and i wanted to die more than ever so i finally decided to talk to my family and get help. im currently on medication and doing much better. one thing thats been bothering me is that now that its in the open with basically everyone i trust, family friends teachers( i got tired of lying and decided to tell the truth i mean i know im not alone depression is real its an illness) i am being labeled crazy , untrustworthy, incapable, stupid, before people would think im just lazy ( i was always tired) but now that they know i have depression and paranoia, and im labeled all these horrible things and i normally wouldnt care but its my family thats hurting me its my closest friends that treat me like im insane, how do you get past that when your illness gets thrown in your face and youre being insulted like never before?
how do you cope?
ive tried telling myself that it doesnt matter , that there just words, they are ignorant but it still hurts, what do you do?

Re: dealing with people( coping with stigma)
What do you mean exactly when you write that you are being labeled? Are they calling you these things or are they treating you differently? Either way, I would definitely calmly address it with them. It may seem as bad once it is out in the open.
