New to the forum

Hi everyone as it says im new to the forum. I have a question but first some background. I have been battling depresson for some time know, probbly since i was 8 when my father died. I recently within the last year have went back to see a therapast when my wife told me it was that or she was going to leave me. I was put on some medication for depression. I quit my job about 3-4 months ago and the depression hasw been coming back more and more. I feel hopeless and like i have no idea what to do with my life. I feel as if im a bother to everyone im around, Everyjob i think i can do i talk myself out of. I seem to have a horriable outlook on myself and my life and just cant seem to change it. My question is does anyone know the best way to deal with this?

maybe you can take this time off as a break, you have a new start now, you have to realize youre not a bother these are just thoughts and you have value youre a human being these emotions of negativity will pass, what i do personally when i have a negative thought is immediately replace that with a positive thought , or you can try writing it all down and crossing it out personally i enjoy writing all the bad things down and then burning it, you can try the rubberband thing were you snap it on your wrist everytime a negative thought pops up, please stick with the medication and therapy, try meditation or something relaxing, instead of talking yourself out of a job you can pick one and just try it out despite any negative thought just go with it see what happens, i hope i helped even a little bit good luck and this forum is great for venting if you ever just need to talk
