    Hello BluePeople....

I am very happy to have found you all, after searching for just the right place for some time.

I noticed that the forums here are rather quiet, but that's a good thing. Being an introvert, I would rather have a few close friends than be lost in the crowd. I also appreciate the variety of discussion topics on these forums, as I wear a coat of many colors.

Right now I am very tired, going through a major transitional phase with my meds, and am in need of support to pull through. I am not suicidal, but very depressed.

I have schizoaffective disorder - bipolar type, and panic disorder with agoraphobia. I also believe I have avoidant personality disorder, though a proper diagnosis is pending.

I tend to isolate from the world a lot as a result of the schizoaffective disorder and agoraphobia, and since I love to write, recovery forums are a perfect fit for me.

I come from another forum where the primary focus is on substance abuse recovery, with a small sub-forum for mental health issues. I'm at the point where my needs have changed. I have had issues with alcohol abuse in the past, but am finding my mental health issues at the forefront of my problems at this point. I love my friends dearly there, as I have known them for many years and they have always stuck by my side, but I think due to the primary theme of the forums being substance abuse recovery, it is difficult to find the support for my mental health issues to the extent I need.

I'm a little ambivalent about being here as it takes time to make new friends, but thanks for having me. Hopefully it won't be too long until it feels like family.

    xo

    Hey Kernel.

I was beginning to think this place was a waste of bandwidth.

Here's a link to a page which describes avoidant personality disorder better than I can:

    http://www.minddisorders.com/A-Br/Av...-disorder.html
