    Anyone taking Mirtazapine

Hi, I have been on Mirtazapine for 4 and a half months due to loss of appetite, weight and insommia for a month after suffering from gastritis for 2 weeks.
I am currently taking the 45mg and have been on it for nearly 2 mths but since on it I have had a terrible time with my stomach and feeling faint.
The doctor told me to drop a dose to 30mg which should help, what a mistake that was I had insommia all that night and within 2 hours of dropping a dose I had extreme stomach pain and terrible nausea, ears buzzing and strange feeling in my head, so that morning back to the doctors and he upped it to 45mg since doing this my stomach pain still here and I am still very drowsy in the day and feeling faint again, I believe this dose is too strong for me does anyone know whether that is possible for a a/d to be too strong?
Any experiences you have had on this medication you would like to share would be great.
    Thanks

    Hi,
The symptoms show that you are taking an over dose of Mirtazapine....
You take 30mg as suggested by you doctor and it will be fine and there would be no stomach pain and terrible nausea like things...

    Re: Anyone taking Mirtazapine

Hi, I've only just started taking Mirtazipine this week due to a bad reaction to Citalopram. The only side effects of it for me seem to be heavy drowsiness. I'd suggest talking to your doc about lowering the dosage and seeing if that helps. Either that or trying a different med.
