what is a addiction to benzodiazepines ?
back in feb this year i had to take zanax for a few weeks to bring my anxiety under control then stopped taking them when things calmed down some what, now i always carry zanax around in my wallet in my car every where i go just in case i have a anxiety attack. even tho i havent taken any in 3 months even when ive had a attack i havent used them but still carry them eveywhere!!!!!!!!!! is this a addiction ???

Not really,
addiction to the medication would be if you
took an escalating amount of Xanax quickly
or took Xanax say 5+ times a day, or took
some huge amount and thought about how the
pill would make you feel and took it. You have
(in my opinion) grown dependent on physically having the
medicine around,

basically anything above what's not working for you anymore. you chase the feeling of relief that you had initially gotten from the reason you were on the med to begin with.

no, its not an addiction to medication, its connection between xanax and your condition in your head. You may try to leave it at home and you'll see that nothing bad happens - this will remove your worries
