Unwelcome Visitor
I left the door unlocked, careless of me,
Bipolar strolled in, took a seat.
He never asked if I wanted him there,
He really didn't seem to care
I offered him nothing, asked him to leave,
He just smiled a nasty smile and for a moment I couldn't breath.
I realized he was here to stay,
It was his game, but I didn't want to play.
He was biding his time, then exploded in a blast,
There was no warning, it all happened so fast.
I was knocked out in the first round,
Finally, the strength to get back up, I found.
Bipolar slept in the guest room,
I hoped he didn't awake any time soon.
Confident, I was feeling more and more,
And then I heard him open the bedroom door.
On a cold rainy morning,
He attacked with no warning;
I was knocked out of my chair;
Afraid though I was, I returned his stare.
After a while on the floor,
I was able to get up once more.
He sat in the den, smoking a pipe,
Uncaring of the ruination of my life.
Over time, he attacked me again and again,
Each time it was harder and harder to get back up, to stand.
Eventually, it seemed , he had won this cruel game,
For all the biting and tearing of my brain, I am destroyed, never to be the same.

Re: Unwelcome Visitor
Nice insight.
But never give up the fight!

Re: Unwelcome Visitor
I know this is the poems and songs forum, but I have been fighting so long, I'm tired. Many days I just want to throw in the towel. Thanks for your compliment on my poem.
